Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) among Generation Z and examine the importance of internalizing Pancasila values as an effort to overcome its negative impacts. The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method by reviewing various sources such as books, scientific journals, and relevant academic articles. The results show that FOMO is a phenomenon influenced by the high use of social media, which leads to social anxiety, consumptive behavior, and a tendency to compare oneself with others. This condition potentially contradicts the values of Pancasila, such as simplicity, empathy, and self-control. Therefore, the internalization of Pancasila values is essential in shaping the character of Generation Z to be wiser in using social media, capable of self-regulation, and able to maintain a balance between digital and real life.
